06/05/2017 - BSGA Floor and Vault National Finals

In February 2017, the U11 Mixed Team qualified for the BSGA Floor and Vault Nationals Finals for the first time ever. This competition was also held at Fenton Manor in Stoke on Trent on Saturday 6th May. For this competition only the team placing 1st at regionals for the county qualify and represent the region.

The squads have been working hard on their individual floor routines and vault. The squad members William Saint, Thomas Howard, Sophie Cook, Lauren Chase, Tegan Rose and Lizzie Smirnova performed extremely well. It was some of the Year 6s last competition and they performed to the highest standard they have ever performed.

We are extremely proud of them and what they have achieved and will be sad to see the Year 6s go at the end of this year.

15/01/2017 - Milano Team Trio Report

The Gymnastics Squad participated in their first Southern Region competition on Sunday 15th January.

The Milano Team Trio Competition was held at Beaconsfield High School and Stokenchurch was the only school to compete in all three categories having a boys team, a mixed team and a girls team. After a very intense competition and a very high level of gymnastics the boys team placed 1st, the mixed team 2nd and the girls team 5th. This meant that the mixed team and the boys team qualified for the National Finals in March in Stoke on Trent.

The team are ecstatic as none of the boys team had ever competed before and are looking forward to the National Finals. The squads also have their next competition on Sunday 5th February which is the Regional Floor and Vault.

We are so proud of the commitment and hard work they have put in which has paid off!

Well done to all gymnasts who competed and we wish them best of luck in their next competition.

12/03/2016 - BSGA National Finals

In December 2015, the U11 Girls, Mixed and Boys teams qualified for the BSGA National Finals held at Fenton Manor in Stoke on Trent on Saturday 12th March 2016.

This is a highly prestigious event with the top 2 schools in each county qualify and compete for their region. It is always extremely competitive and a very high standard. This is the second time Stokenchurch have competed and we were the only school to have teams that qualified in all three categories.

The squads have been working hard on their group routines, individual floor routines and vault. Although we had a few technical problems with the music the children acted very professionally and performed very well.

The girls team were in a very strong division and with last minute changes a week before the competition they managed to perform very well.

The boys and mixed team placed 7th out of 19 teams and represented the South alongside Chalfont St Peter. The Boys teams were 3rd best region and the mixed teams placed 1st best region.

Well done to all who competed especially those who are leaving the school making it their last competition.

 Miss Goodall and Miss Jones.
