Spellings will be given out on a Monday and tested on the following Monday. The words relate directly to our phonics teaching. Please help your child read and write the words.

We recommend practising spellings in a variety of ways, rewriting the spellings on post-it notes/ whiteboards/ large pieces of paper/ with chalk/ with paint/in sand/in flour/with different fun pencils or pens.

Please do not worry about the spelling tests. They are very relaxed. The children will be given the time to have a go at writing the spellings. As the children grow in confidence, so will their spelling ability.
