Snack Bars

Due to popular demand, here is the basic recipe for the Year 4's snack bars.

Year 4 Healthy Snack Bars

(makes 12 slices)

2 Bananas

250g Oats

150g Butter

75g (3 tbspn) Honey

2 x 50g Choice of Extra – Sultanas, Raisins, Currants, Pumpkin Seeds, Dried Banana, Dried Cranberries or Dried Apricots

 

Method

  1. Mash the bananas in bowl
  2. Add oats to mixture and stir in
  3. Melt honey and butter in a saucepan
  4. Stir melted mixture into oat mixture
  5. Add 2 choices from above list
  6. Grease small baking tray
  7. Add mixture and press down
  8. Bake 170˚F/Gas 3 for 20-25 minutes until golden brown
  9. Remove and cool for approx. 10 minutes, slice in tray and leave to cool completely.
