Year 4

Spring news

Welcome back and a Happy New Year to all!

We have had a thoroughly entertaining start to the new school term with the pantomime 'Little Red Riding Hood' last week. What fun it was!

In class, our learning is proving to be fun too with our silk painting works of art and our cooking sessions where we are making healthy snacks!

Although a short half term, it is no less busy with lots of topics to cover across many different subjects. In Science, we are looking at States of Matter and following this we will be looking more closely at the Earth in Geography. Maths includes a variety of different areas including measure and data handling, whilst in English we are looking at persuasive writing and then formal letter writing.

Please continue to support where you can with your child's homework and reading generally, as this will help them enormously back in the classroom.

May we also take this opportunity to respectfully remind you to ensure all belongings are clearly named and to ask that you sign your child's homework diary each week.

Thank you.

We are all pleased to announce an exciting new times table scheme. When it comes to times tables, speed and accuracy are important – the more facts your child remembers, the easier it is for them to do harder calculations. Times Table Rock Stars is a fun and challenging programme designed to help students master the times tables! To be a Times Table Rock Star you need to answer any multiplication fact up to 12×12 in less than 3 seconds! We would really appreciate your support with this and any times tables practice at home will always be beneficial.
