18.01.21 - Division

This week's Maths lessons focus on division.

 

Monday 18th January:

Task 1: Spend 5-10 minutes practising your times tables on TTRockStars.

Task 2: Formal division without remainders (worksheet)

Apart from today, all activities for this week are from the Collins Maths book we usually use in school. Note: squared paper isn’t necessary for this week but it may help with place value so it is available to be downloaded and printed below.

  • Must: complete Challenge 1
  • Should: complete Challenge 1 and Challenge 2
  • Could: complete Challenge 1, Challenge 2 and Challenge 3

There is also a support sheet (if finding Challenge 1 tricky) and an extension task available to download below - scroll to the bottom of this page.

Tuesday 19th January:

Task 1: Choose and play a game from the 'Play' section on Mathletics.

Task 2: Formal division with remainders (pages 28 and 29)

Note: squared paper isn’t necessary for this week but it may help with place value so it is available to be downloaded and printed below.

  • Must: complete Challenge 1
  • Should: complete Challenge 1 and Challenge 2
  • Could: complete Challenge 1, Challenge 2 and Challenge 3

  • Could: complete Challenge 1, Challenge 2 and Challenge 3

Thursday 21st January:

Note: squared paper isn’t necessary for this week but it may help with place value so it is available to be downloaded and printed below.

If you find that there is a recurring decimal (the decimal number keeps repeating), stop at 3 decimal places.

  • Must: complete Challenge 1 
  • Should: complete Challenge 1 and Challenge 2
  • Could: complete Challenge 1, Challenge 2 and Challenge 3

Note: squared paper isn’t necessary for this week but it may help with place value so it is available to be downloaded and printed below.

Keep an eye out for Challenge 2 question c and i – you may need to use an operation other than division.

  • Must: complete Challenge 1 
  • Should: complete Challenge 1 and Challenge 2
  • Could: complete Challenge 1, Challenge 2 and Challenge 3
