The activities from the Collins Busy Ant 5c Pupil Book this week focus on Addition and Subtraction.

Monday 30th March:

Task 1: Spend 5-10 minutes practising your times tables on TTRockStars. Remember, battle of the bands is on, so rack those scores up!

Task 2: Mental addition and subtraction (pages 12 and 13)

  • Must: complete Challenge 1 (Resource 45 can be found below to download).
  • Should: complete Challenge 1 and Challenge 2.
  • Could: complete Challenge 1, Challenge 2 and Challenge 3.

There is also an extension task available to download below - scroll to the bottom of this page.

Tuesday 31st March:

Task 1: Choose and play a game from the 'Play' section on Mathletics.

Task 2: Written addition (pages 14 and 15)

We would recommend using the squared paper for these tasks, ensuring that columns are correctly aligned and only one digit or symbol per square.

  • Must: complete Challenge 1
  • Should: complete Challenge 1 and Challenge 2 (a partner would be handy for part 2, but if you don't have one, skip this step)
  • Could: complete Challenge 1, Challenge 2 (a partner would be handy for part 2, but if you don't have one, skip this step) and Challenge 3

There is also an extension task available to download below - scroll to the bottom of this page.
