Young Voices choir at The 02 Arena
On Monday 29th January 2018, our Year 5 & 6 choir members travelled up to the 02 Arena in London, where they performed in the Young Voices Concert! It was an extremely long day, but the children never once let themselves or the school down. From over 7000 children they stood out with their professionalism, their enthusiasm and their wonderfully smiley, happy faces! Singing with real energy, they thoroughly enjoyed the experience! It was a real honour to be able to share this special day with them. The teachers who accompanied them would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them on being such wonderful ambassadors for our school and we hope that they will cherish the memory of performing in such a large and prestigious venue for many years to come. Thank you to all the children for making us so proud! Mrs Dennis, Miss Jones, Mrs Foster and Mrs Styles
The spring term will prove to be extremely busy for Year 5 & 6 as they prepare for their very special concert at The Royal Albert Hall on Monday 20th March 2017.
Each child now has a copy of the lyrics and the accompanying music is available on our choir web page.
Please, alongside weekly rehearsals in choir, could you support and encourage your child to rehearse at home. We look forward to seeing lots of parents there: a letter regarding ticket sales and arrangements will follow shortly. Performing plays a huge part of the development of the choir and the children love it.
We are hoping to find a concert/performance for the rest of the choir to participate in this year. We will keep you updated.
Nothing can prepare you for the sound of thousands of children singing in harmony. Young Voices combines the power of singing together as one, with accompaniment from a wide range of musicians and artists, to create an amazing performance.
Every year, schools across the country practise our music in class with their teachers to prepare themselves to take part in these massive concerts. Over the years the children in the choir have performed with artists such as Alexandra Burke, Joss Stone, and Gary Barlow as well as raising over 1 million pounds for Children’s charities such as CLIC Sargent.
With a full live band, backing singers and the internationally acclaimed conductor David Lawrence, it makes for one of the most exciting and memorable musical experiences you can imagine.
