F2 Topics

This half term our topic is Marvellous me

Our special book is:

What Makes Me a Me? By Ben Faulks

What will we be learning?

Children will consider what makes them special, how they are unique and how to be a good friend. They will build confidence within the setting, initiating conversations and asking for help when needed. Children will express themselves through being creative, using their imagination, painting a self portrait and making an all about me book  Children will begin to recognise phase 2 sounds  and write their name clearly.

In F2 we have been retelling the story of the Three Little Pigs. Repeating stories with actions helps children internalise the language structures needed to write. Below is a version that you can read to your child at home and they can join in and show you all the actions. They are very good at it!

The F2 team.

The three little pigs

Once upon a time three little pigs lived at home with their mummy.

She told them that they had to go and make a house of their own so off they went.

One day one little pig made his house out of straw.

Along came the wolf who knocked on the door ands said ‘Little pig little pig let me come in’.

‘Not by the hair on my chinny chin chin. You’re a big bad wolf and you can’t come in’.

‘Then I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house in’.

So the wolf huffed and he puffed and he blew the house down.

The little pig ran to his brothers.

The next day one little pig made his house out of sticks.

Along came the wolf who knocked on the door and said ‘Little pig little pig let me come in’.

The next day one little pig made his out of bricks.

Along came the wolf who knocked on the door and said ‘Little pig little pig let me come in’.

‘Not by the hair on my chinny chin chin. You’re a big bad wolf and you can’t come in’.

‘Then I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house in’.

So he huffed and he puffed and he huffed and he puffed but he could not blow the house down.

So the wolf climbed up the chimney right to the top.

Went inside and fell into the pot!

Ouch!

He ran away and was never seen again.

The end.
