Year 6 Create Stunning Maths Art

From Fibonacci to spirals, our students prove that numbers can be beautiful.

Our Year 6 children have been exploring the fascinating world of mathematical sequences this week, and the results are absolutely spectacular. Instead of leaving their calculations on the whiteboard, they have successfully transformed abstract numbers into stunning pieces of visual art.

🎨 The Science Behind the Art

The students looked closely at patterns that are often replicated in nature, mastering three distinct concepts to create their colorful spirals:

  • The Fibonacci Sequence: Finding the rhythm of nature's own design.

  • Archimedes Spirals: Mapping out perfectly even, mesmerising coils.

  • Baravelle Spirals: Layering geometric shapes to create optical depth.

By blending precise mathematics with vibrant bursts of color, Year 6 have created a truly striking gallery display in our school.
