Online Safety
At Stokenchurch we take internet safety very seriously. The children are taught how to stay safe online from the very beginning of their Stokenchurch journey in our Nursery, right through to the end of Year 6.
We use the document 'Education For A Connected World' to guide our teaching. This covers:
- Self image and identity
- Online relationships
- Online reputation
- Online bullying
- Managing online information
- Health, well-being and lifestyle
- Privacy and security
- Copyright and ownership
These important ideas are threaded throughout our curriculum and also taught as stand alone lessons through weekly Project Evolve discussions.
In addition, we adhere to the DfE's Filtering and Monitoring standards to ensure children are kept safe when using devices at school.
More information about how parents can protect their children at home can be found on the NSPCC website. In addition, Internet Matters, offers practical advice about how to change app settings to keep your child safe. CEOP Safety Centre offers guidance on how to report online issues.
