We will be starting weekly spelling test in the coming few weeks. Children will be issued with a spellings list covering the whole of the half term and tested on Mondays. The words relate directly to our phonics teaching. Please help your child read and write the words.

We recommend practising spellings in a variety of ways, rewriting the spellings on post-it notes/ whiteboards/ large pieces of paper/ with chalk/ with paint/in sand/in flour/with different fun pencils or pens.

Please do not worry about the spelling tests. They are very relaxed. The children will be given the time to have a go at writing the spellings. As the children grow in confidence, so will their spelling ability.
