This week in English we will start with some activities based on the setting of your class book, Running Wild, before moving on to some Wellbeing activities for the final three days. Further details about the timings and content of these lessons can be found in the ‘Live Lessons’ section.
Monday 8th February
Jungle animal riddles
Look through the riddles in the Jungle Animal PowerPoint (see the Resource Bank below). Guess each animal from the clues and identify the syllable structure of the riddles.
Now have a go at creating your own animal-based riddle for us to guess in tomorrow’s Live Lesson. You could write your own riddle about an Indonesian jungle animal or something closer to home such as a farm animal or pet.

Tuesday 9th February
Celebrating our writing
In this lesson we will be sharing our animal-based riddles during our Live Lesson. Please have your riddles ready before the start of the lesson.
If you are not able to join this Live Lesson, please draw or find a picture of the animal your riddle is about and send both your riddle and the picture to yearfour@stokenchurchprimary.bucks.sch.uk. You can write more than one riddle if you would like to.
Wednesday 10th February
Positive Thinking
For the remaining Live Lessons this week we will be dividing into our two Year 4 Class Groups. This is to reduce the numbers in each lesson and provide increased opportunities for everyone to join in if they would like to. We hope that everyone, including those who have not attended Live Lessons previously, will be able to join us for these wellbeing sessions.

Today we will be sharing the positive things we have learned about ourselves and the positive things that have happened this half term. Everyone will then design their own positive thinking hat.
If you are not able to join us for this Live Lesson please look through the Positive Thinking PowerPoint in the Resource Bank and then try one or more of the Positive Thinking Challenge Cards activities or have a go at designing a Positive Thinking Hat (see Resource Bank).

Celebrating our best work
Everyone should be really proud of everything they have achieved during Home Learning. This has not been an easy half term but you have all worked very hard and we want to celebrate this together.

Friday 12th February
‘Bedtime Stories’ Reading Time
We all have our favourite book, illustration or poem and this is your opportunity to share yours with the rest of your class.
For this ‘Bedtime Story’ style event you can find somewhere comfortable to sit (remember that this should still be in a shared public area in your home), bring your favourite teddy and a drink or snack too.
Everyone will be invited to read their chosen poem or up to a page from their favourite book or to share their favourite illustration so please have your books ready before the start of the lesson!
