Today we are looking at multiples. A multiple is a number that can be divided by another number with nothing left over. For example: 14 is a multiple of 2 because 14 can be shared by 2 equally.
Here is today's task:
LO: Use halving to recall division facts for the 4 times table
Starter:
Write out your 4x table.
Today we are looking at dividing numbers by 4. To do this we are going to use halving to help us.
To share by 4 we can half the number(to make 2 parts) and then halve it again(to make 4 parts). That will give us 4 equal groups.
Please complete Unit 6, Week 1, Lesson 2:
Lesson 3- Wednesday
LO: Use halving to recall division facts for the 8 times table
Starter:
Write out your 8x table.
Today we are looking at dividing numbers by 8. To do this we will use yesterday's learning to help us.
To share by 8 we can half the number (to give us 2 parts), halve it again (to give 4 parts) and then halve it AGAIN (to give us 8 parts).
Please complete Unit 6, Week 1, Lesson 3:
LO: Solve word problems using multiplication and division
Starter:
Write your x2, x4, x8 times tables. Can you write the division facts as well?
Today we will be looking at word problems using multiplication and division.
Read through each question carefully, thinking about which operation you need to use. Do you need to use division or multiplication?
Please complete Unit 6, Week 1, Lesson 4:
Please log in to Mathletics to complete your set tasks on Multiplication and Division.
