Puzzle 3: Dreams and Goals
Piece 1: To respect and admire people who overcome obstacles and achieve their dreams and goals.
Begin by going through the ‘Calm me script’ available below. If possible, have someone read it out to you.
Task 1: Have a look at these pictures.
For each picture, think about the following questions:
to one person might be ‘normal’ to another.
Task 2: Now choose one of the pictures to focus on. If you are able to, you may print the picture and stick it in your exercise book (printable versions available below).
We would like you to write a short back story for the person in the picture that you have chosen.
Put yourself in the person’s shoes by writing down answers to the following questions in first person (I).
• Introduce the person, their name and their challenge. (My name is…)
• Describe how the person feels about facing the challenge.
• Describe how the person achieves the challenge.
• Describe how the person feels when they have been successful.
Task 3: What is the biggest challenge that you have faced? Were you able to overcome it? If so, how?
