Welcome to Year 4
Can you believe we are already half way through the Summer Term? The year is flying by with Year 4 children working exceptionally hard. Over the last few weeks, children have shown what great progress they have made. Showing themselves to be motivated, hardworking individuals with a determination to succeed.
All the teachers have particularly enjoyed reading the many pieces of writing the children have produced this term. The children wrote some entertaining pieces linked with our class book, 'The Diary of the Killer Cat' by Anne Fine. This work included fantastic sequels that the children presented as books. These are now shared daily in class during silent reading.
Furthermore, how could we forget Year 4's fantastic trip to Hazard Alley! Children enjoyed learning from the volunteers at the centre, walking around the interactive 'village'. On the day itself all staff at the centre commented on the excellent behaviour of the children as well as their inquisitive nature. Back in the classroom, we were able to follow this up by watching and reviewing the 999 scenarios that children were involved in.
The Year 4 team are really looking forward to our swimming season and if you have any queries please use your child's homework diary. Some quick reminders:
Please note the following dates for your diary:
Could we just take this opportunity to remind you that Homework Diaries should still be signed every weekend to show acknowledgement of homework and any messages. Similarly, we ask that you sign your child's Workabook (both English and Maths) on a weekly basis too. Please do continue to use the purple tear off slips at the back of the Homework Diary to inform us of any absences.
