Welcome to Year 4
May we start, albeit a little late, by wishing you all a very happy and healthy new year! The teaching and support staff would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the children on their excellent attitude to school after returning from the Christmas break.
We are also pleased to welcome Mrs Jenkinson who has slotted into the Year 4 team perfectly, getting involved in various areas of life and learning in Year 4.
It truly has been a very busy start to the new term with lots of enrichment activities taking place: Hazel’s class assembly, making healthy snack bars and preparing for upcoming performances at the Wycombe Swan. Please see individual areas above for further information.
In English we are focussing upon formal letter writing, choosing appropriate language, after half term we will be looking at stories from other cultures. Through our Blocked Curriculum children will be learning about natural disasters in Geography and building desk tidies in Design Technology. After half term our focus will be upon History and the Roman Empire, with our learning culminating on our Roman Day on Tuesday 17th March. Maths continues to follow national guidelines.

A quick reminder, can you please ensure that homework diaries are signed every week, as although this process started well at the beginning of the school year we have noticed that more and more children are coming in on a Monday without signatures.
